So, you may be wondering why world race and why now?

The short answer is that I felt called to pursue mission work.

The long answer is that we have all been called to pursue mission work. The question is not “Am I called?” rather “How am I called?”. I did not wake up one day and automatically know I would be going to Nepal with WR. However, one day I did wake up and decide that it’s time to be intentional about my relationship with God. Being intentional means having a servant’s heart.

Having a servant’s heart means being willing to serve in any capacity. Don’t get me wrong, not every season of life is meant for crossing oceans and sharing the gospel to unreached areas. Rather some seasons are served better within your own backyard and community. Wherever it may be, the important part is to say yes. We don’t wait to be called. We ask how and when.

So, this brings me to my why. I am at a season in my life where my only “job” is finishing college, being a good neighbor, and serving the Lord – the perfect season to do something big. I have always had great compassion for others and a willingness to help where needed. This sparked a desire to go into the mission field, so I began to ask God more questions. Like where and how I could serve. When WR was first put on my radar, it sounded like just what I was being called to do. That’s when I realized that I was called to spread the good news when Jesus took my place on the cross and that spreading this is something that we should do in our everyday life - not just on a mission. WR was being put on my heart not because I was being called but because God was testing my ability to obey Him.

If you know me, you know I am a big planner and not one that usually goes with the flow. So, the thought of going into an unknown culture with unknown people... yeah that’s scary. It’s still scary as I’m writing this. However, I am reminded time and time again that He is our Guide, our Counselor, and our Intercessor. He makes holiness possible for us. So, I will make my life His. Being a planner, I always insist on being in control. But my life is not mine to control. So, I put down the planners and the lists, and decided to see God through the unknown. I decided to trust and obey Him.

So, here I am. I have seen Jesus shows up in BIG ways, so I am showing up in a big way for Him.

I have full confidence in the Lord and know as I walk through this journey, He will provide everything I need. Through this trust, I am developing a team of partners who are willing to walk alongside me. I would love to ask you to pray about joining my financial support team and partnering with me as I make His Kingdom known.
